Moving!

So we have decided to start our own web page and will be redirecting traffic to it starting today. We decided (actually I did) that it would be a little more fun to create and give me a little more flexibility when it comes to posting pictures and video. The name of the site is (of course!) is www.fullquiver8.com . We are going to try it for a bit and if you could let me know how it works for you (loading, etc). You can still leave comments and email us, we tried to put a link between your bank account and ours but that still isn't working yet! So let us know what you think and thanks for all your support and prayers over the last 6 months

Hannah

This is for you Hannah!! Touche, I Win

This week we went with Nolan and Gina to see Arabelle's choir competition. It is a pretty major affair held at the country club. School choirs from all over the city compete for various prizes. That is Arabelle in the purple. Their choir was the defending champions, but came in 3rd this time. They were excellent.

We thought we would take the opportunity to take a family picture. We forget to take pictures of all of us - however, Josh stayed home, so just pretend he is in the picture. And yes, that is a Christmas tree in the background - we were just trying to be festive.

Great view from the country club. Of course most people can never enjoy it because it costs too much. We only got in for the performance.
Went to a 50's diner for supper. We had a hankerin for some grease and figured they would have it. Of course, just our luck, they weren't serving burgers cause they ran out of buns.
Kids had real milkshakes.
And the sandwiches were pretty darn huge.
Couldn't eat the whole thing. Best ever sandwich for $1.50 - at least they had 50's prices

First things first, Rosalyn is doing well and is heading home from the hospital today. Thank-you all for your prayers.
Next, Ben had his 9th birthday on Wednesday, Dec 5. How cool is it that to spend your birthday in another country. I think he really missed having family and friends to spend it with. He did get to go shopping and buy some toys.

We even ate gross sandwiches for lunch -or at least part of them. "Ham" is definitely not ham here.
Even had to buy a cake - something we never do, but baking a cake in our toaster oven seemed a little like trying to use an Easy Bake Oven to get the job done.
Oops, didn't get everyone in the picture - perhaps they weren't as eager for the cake. Anyway, Ben had a good day, but says he doesn't feel any different than he did the day before - welcome to the wonderful world of birthdays - increase satisfaction with lowered expectations.

And for some more pictures. Some of us went back to the orphanage to hold babies. You will be happy to know that baby Gabriella (the baby found out with the garbage) was given a home and no longer at the orphanage. There was a new baby to take her place though, and we held him for a while. His name is Ian, and Abby enjoyed him.
More baby holding - or should we say wrestling.
And here is our special segment we will entitle "Toilet Ethics". Perhaps if we had signs like this our bathrooms would be cleaner.
Wish I would have seen this sign sooner - would have saved me some pulled muscles, I'm not gumby.
Don't even ask yourself where or how I got those pictures, or what I was doing - you don't want to know.

This is not a great picture, but we thought we would show you that people actually do work on the power lines - and sort them all out.
This is just a random street shot. This is a busy street in La Trinidad where the orphanage is.
So, that's it for today. We will keep on the look out for more signs that amuse and educate at the same time. I hope you all develop better toilet ethics after reading these signs. I know it has helped us.

Rosalyn

We just wanted to update everyone on Rosalyn's condition. The doctor ended up taking out her gall bladder altogether. She was doing well the first day but at this moment she is on oxygen and has a fever. If you could please pray for her and her husband Ceasar and their 4 kids. We will keep you posted.

So by now most have you have heard of the four sisters we have become good friends with, Lourdes, Tessie, Rosalyn and Lilit (These are the ladies who are making the cards) Well, yesterday afternoon we got an emergency call saying that Rosalyn was having stomach pains and was rushed to the hospital. Turns out she had Gall stones and had to have surgery to remove them. The hospitals here are not at the same kind of standards as in Canada and therefore a routine surgery is not always routine. Right now she is recovering well in the hospital. Now they are faced with a hospital bill and a rather large one at that. For the surgery, hospital tests and medication the bill is around 60,000 pesos, which is about $1,200 Canadian. This amount is around a half a years wage for this family and they are now trying to come up with it, as she can't leave the hospital until she has paid this bill. So we thought if anybody wanted to donate to this family to help with this bill that would be great. Email us and let us know. (fullquiver8@gmail.com)
